The battery charger is a fully digital, static AC/DC rectifier with constant voltage and constant current that is thyristor controlled. The input transformer provides galvanic isolation. Thanks to its free contacts and communication capabilities (Modbus protocol; RS-485 or TCP/IP port), the battery charger is Scada ready.
PMI battery chargers are widely used in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, transportation, oil and gas, power generation, distribution, and transmission. They are used in alarm, control, signaling, and supply of DC breakers in power plants, substations, switchgears, railways, and offshore plants, among other applications.
The Hyperion Series Thyristor Battery Chargers are intended to be used for battery charging as well as clean energy and power backup for important DC loads such as security systems, telecom equipment, substations, transformer centers, and emergency lights. Transformer-based designs have a long lifespan, require little maintenance, and can function in challenging environments.
Hyperion rectifiers offer complete protection against earth faults and DC leaks. Battery compartments are optional when it comes to charger enclosures. The voltages for boost and float can be chosen. Up to eight units of parallel redundant working are permitted.
